Writes LAURA NOBILE of the newspaper la Repubblica
"A set to remember the "excellent" murders, rebuilt from time to time in the places and days in which they were actually committed.
A cycle of shots that will become a documentary film. It is the project "Legality and historical reconstructions". Last night in Piazza Marina in Palermo the first take dedicated to the murder of the Italian-American policeman Joe Petrosino, in the very place where the crime occurred, on the evening of March 12, 1909. The scene was shot in sequence, as will be the case for all other reconstructions.
The script and direction are by Max Crivello.
In the reconstruction Petrosino leaves the Hotel de France and after having mailed a letter to his wife, he is approached by two hit men, who explode the first three gunshots in the back.
To give him the last shot, comes Vito Cascio Ferro, considered the number one enemy of the policeman since he was in New York. "
It’s true, hitmen and sponsors were never identified with certainty and Cascio Ferro was also acquitted - says Crivello - but here we drew inspiration from the popular imagination and a series of judicial excerpts "In the cast Roberto Pepoli plays Joe Petrosino, Tony Magno Paleggiati as Vito Cascio Ferro, Joe Carrè (alias Giuseppe La Grassa) as the police inspector, Dario Veca as a marshal and Michele Seidita as the sailor who found the body materially and warned the police.
Promoted by the Popular Union against Mafias (which also produces the film) together with the non-profit organization Cristianity active, the project has as its social purpose the support of disadvantaged artists and disabled.
The main calendar of the next set includes the reconstruction of the murders of Mauro De Mauro (in September), then Mario Francese, General Dalla Chiesa, Rocco Chinnici, until the massacres of Capaci and Via D'Amelio".
